Seven held for targeting people on highways

The Rajajinagar police have arrested a gang of seven who allegedly used to book cars on rent and use them to rob people on highways.

The are Madhusudhan Gowda, Harish, Abhishek, Prakash, Praveen Dhanraj, Rahul Robins and Kishore Vinod.

They would use a stolen phone to hire a car. They would used the car while robbing people, a senior police officer said. They allegedly used to target people moving alone in and around the city.

In the last week of June, they had allegedly robbed Sanjay, a software engineer who was returning home from work late at night, on West of Chord Road.

Based on a complaint, the Rajajinagar police tracked down the seven men through Call Record Details.

The accused confessed to six robberies in the last few months, police said.
