External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Bahraini counterpart Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa will co-chair the second joint commission meeting in Manama today. Trade, investment and co-operation in countering terrorism are among the issues likely to be discussed during the meeting. The first meeting of the Commission was held in New Delhi in February, 2015.
Mrs Swaraj reached Manama yesterday on a 2-day visit. She inaugurated a new complex of the Indian Embassy in Bahrain. Speaking on the occasion, the External Affairs Minister said, the complex is a testimony of close co-operation between India and Bahrain. She said, the new developments that had taken place in the economic field between the two countries will take bilateral economic relations to greater heights.
