Water level in Linganamakki and Bhadra reservoirs has increased

Hosanagar, Tirthahalli and Sagar taluks received widespread intermittent rain while cloudy conditions prevailed in remaining parts of the district on Saturday.

A landslip has been reported along the road that connects Shivamogga with Kundapur near Kumbarigadde village owing to heavy rain here from past few days. However, vehicular movement remained unaffected. Malapahari rivulet was overflowing on the bridge that connects Kavarihakkalu and Agasarakone villages in Agumbe Gram Panchayat limits.

The water level in Linganamakki and Bhadra reservoirs has increased by two feet each in past 24 hours. The water level in Linganamakki reservoir that was at 1,788 ft. on Friday has risen to 1,790 ft. on Saturday. Inflow was recorded at 38,964 cusecs. Similarly, the water level in Bhadra reservoir that was at 165 ft. on Friday has risen to 167 ft. on Saturday. The inflow was at 28,447 cusecx.

Maasthikatte in Hosanagar taluk received 156 mm rain in the past 24 hours, Yadur 152 mm, Mani 138 mm and Hulikal 119 mm.

Meanwhile, K.S. Eshwarappa, Shivamogga MLA, offered bagina to Tunga river in Shivamogga city on Saturday with his family members and functionaries of the BJP.
