Nagpur: ‘Bevdyachi Diary’, a book written by Tushar Natu, depicting the life of an
addict who later reformed, was released at a function held at Sai Sabhagruh on Sunday.
Maharashtra minister for social welfare Rajkumar Badole and social worker Girish Gandhi were the guests. Psychiatrists Shailesh Pangaonkar and Swati Dharmadhikari and corporator Sanjay Bangale were present.
Published by Maitree Vyasan Mukti Kendra, this is Natu’s third book after Nashayatra and Bandkhot.
In his address, Gandhi said, “The book deals with the problems the addicts face and their efforts to lead a normal life.”
Natu said, “I have spent 32 years, first as an addict, and later helping people discard bad habits. The aim of writing the book was that nobody should reach a stage where there is no point of return.”
Natu and his friend Ravi Padhye, director of Maitree Vyasanmukti Kendra, work at this rehabilitation centre to help thousands of people get a new lease of life, free from addiction. This centre, started 18 years ago, has helped over 4,000 people lead a normal life.
