Men’s eighth seed Kevin Anderson will play for the  Championship against 3-time champion Novak Djokovic. This is Anderson’s second grand slam final at Wimbledon after last year’s US Open where he lost to Rafael Nadal. The South African giant beat American John Isner in a thriller with final score reading 7-6, 6-7, 6-7, 6-4, 26-24. Anderson won the second longest ever Grand Slam singles match in the history of the Championship. It took Anderson six hours and 35 minutes to see off Isner in a marathon clash on Centre Court. Isner was previously engaged in the longest ever grand slam singles match against Nicolas Mahut, which lasted for 11 hours and 5 minutes in 2010 Wimbledon first round.

On the other hand, Djokovic beat Rafael Nadal in the second men’s semifinal in five-sets. That set the record for the longest semi-final at the tournament and became the second longest Grand Slam singles match ever played. Victory on Sunday for the 31-year-old Serb would take his career Slam tally to 13, four behind Nadal but still seven back from Roger Federer.
