Auto driver helps cops nab mobile phone thief

An alert auto driver in the Old City of Hyderabad helped police nab a phone thief and recover a mobile phone.

HYDERABAD: An alert auto driver in the Old City of Hyderabad helped police nab a phone thief and recover a mobile phone. The phone, worth `20,000, belonged to a Mission Bhagiratha contractor Anup Bepari from Gadchiroli, Maharasthra. The accused was nabbed while trying to sell the phone near Falaknuma police staion. Chatrinaka additional inspector Abdul Khadeer Jilani said that when the accused was trying to sell the stolen mobile phone, the auto driver Ashwaq Ahmed noticed it and caught him. 

Suspecting his movement, the driver snatched the phone and started inquiring about it. The miscreant tried to escape but Jilani caught hold of him and informed the cops. Police took him into custody. Police contacted Bepari and handed the phone to him and registered a theft case.
