Southbound traffic backed up 25km on Bruce Highway after rollover

A two-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway north of Brisbane has caused 25 kilometres of southbound traffic delays on Sunday — the last day of school holidays.

One of the vehicles involved in the Caboolture crash rolled over and hit a tree just before 9am, leading to southbound congestion forming between Caboolture and Landsborough.

Part of the highway was blocked for several hours while police waited for a tow truck, but reopened about midday.

By 11.30pm, 20 kilometres of southbound traffic backed up and about six kilometres of delays heading north, according to Australian Traffic Network reporter Charlton Hart.

By 12.45pm, 25 kilometres of southbound traffic backed up and northbound delays had cleared, according to Australian Traffic Network reporter Michelle Anderson.

Paramedics treated the male driver of the flipped vehicle for multiple injuries before taking him to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a stable condition.

Ms Anderson said there was more than four kilometres of southbound M1 delays between Reedy Creek and Robina and about six kilometres from Palm Beach to Currumbin Waters at 12.45pm.
