Ride Like A Sir In Elton John’s 2014 Bentley Continental GT Speed

Apart from being one of the most successful solo artists in history, Sir Elton John also has one impressive car collection, with many exotics having nested in his garage over his five-decade long career.

One of them is this Bentley Continental GT Speed, which he acquired in June 2014, and 10 months later, the car was passed on to his husband, David Furnish, who has been the sole owner since.

The vehicle has been properly maintained over the years, being accompanied by the full service history, booklets and different stamps from Bentley Berkshire, SilverstoneAuctions notes.

The auction house says that, since 2014, the Bentley Continental GT Speed has just a little over 21,000 miles (33,796 kilometers) on the clock, and should go for £70,000-£80,000 ($93,014-$106,301) at the event scheduled to take place on July 21-22 at the Silverstone circuit.

So, what else should interest a potential bidder? That would be another 15 percent, tax included, that is the buyer’s premium.

Compared to the regular Continental GT, the Speed sits 10mm (0.4in) closer to the ground and features a lot of extra gizmos, in addition to an increased engine power to 610PS (602hp / 449kW) and 750Nm (553lb-ft) of torque. Thus, the Conti GT Speed can reach 60mph (96km/h) in just 3.9 seconds from a standstill, and maxes out at 205mph (330km/h).

So, there you have it: a Bentley in pristine condition, with a celebrity ownership, that costs less than a new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe.
