Heavy rainfall increases water levels of rivers


Ujjain : The city and periphery areas in the region received heavy rainfall over the last 24 hours resulting in an increase in the water levels of river Gambhir and Kshipra. The Gambhir dam alone received 479.75McFT.

According to the Government Jiwajrao Observatory 78.4 mm rain was recorded during the last 24 hours. According to weathermen, a total of 15.5 Inches of rain was recorded during this season. Sahibkhedi dam also had an increase in water levels of 80McFt according to public health engineering officials.  On Saturday  showers drenched the city and reduced humidity. The Met department has predicted heavy rains in the regions due to development of a cyclonic system. Rains also resulted in a mall culvert drowning in the river Kshipra river.
