1,700 students receive degrees

Coimbatore: A total of 1,702 students from 13 undergraduate engineering departments and 14 masters departments received their degree certificates during the graduation day ceremony of Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) on Saturday.
College principal J Senthil, who presented the annual report, said in the academic year 2017-2018, the college produced 318 research papers that were published in Scopus-indexed journals. He said the research work done by the college has also received 27 patents and 19 MoUs were signed with international institutions for collaborative research.

P B Kotur, general manager and global head of higher education, Wipro Technologies, who was the chief guest for the first session of the Graduation Day ceremony, said graduates should strengthen themselves in the fundamentals of their studies if they are to have a good career. Kotur also said they should assimilate content from their field and have conduct and character in order to succeed in their careers.
