BERHAMPUR: Making miniature chariots is Silk City businessman Satyanarayan Moharana's annual indulgence. The trader switches into his artistic self every year during
Rath Yatra. He will display it at Badadanda in Puri from Monday and is packing his bags for the journey.
This year his wooden chariot, a replica of Nandighosh, the ratha of Lord Jagannath measures 4.5 inch in height and 2 inch in width and has 16 wheels.
The height and width of deity is half an inch. "I have spent very nominal amount in making the chariot as I have only used waste wood. It took me just three days," he said.
Moharana has applied to the Guinness Book of World Records claiming that it is the smallest wooden chariot in the world.
Last year, his chariot measured 8x5 inch and found a mention in the India Book of Records. "I have broken my own record," said Moharana, 34. Before leaving for Puri he will display it at Bijipur on Saturday.
