40-year-old PSL star signs for another year

Cape town - AmaZulu have handed veteran strikers Siyabonga Nomvethe and Mabhuti Khenyeza new one-year contracts ahead of the new season.

The experienced duo played an important role in Usuthu finishing the previous season in a respectable position after making their return to top flight football.

Amazulu general manager Lunga Sokhela revealed during the club's new kit launch that the two forwards have penned contract extensions ahead of the new season.

The 40-year Nomvethe, who has had a glittering career that includes playing for Soweto giants in Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, netted two goals for the KZN club during the 2017/18 season to take his tally 121 Premiership goals.

Khenyeza (36), who has also played for Chiefs, is on 110 goals premiership goals.

Usuthu have also reinforced their squad ahead of the new season bringing in the likes of Moeneb Josephs from Bidvest Wits, Marc van Heerden from Orlando Pirates while Nhlanhla Vilakazi joined from Free State Stars.

Sokhela told journalist: ''We have finalised their contracts for another year."
