A joint eviction squad of the Bhubaneswar Devel-opment Authority (BDA) and the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) completed demolition of an unauthorised temple near Gate No. 6 of the Kalinga Stadium here on Friday.

The eviction was carried out to remove unauthorised encroachments in and around of the boundary wall of the Kalinga Stadium for the upcoming Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2018.

The demolished temple had been constructed over a plot size of 900 square feet and its height was 50 feet.

The joint eviction team on last Friday had begun the process but due to the lack of machine it did not progress much.

Along with the temple, the eviction team cleared and reclaimed about 0.250 decimal Government land from the area near the Central Poultry Development Organisation at Jayadev Vihar close to the stadium.

It has been decided that every Friday the eviction work would be undertaken around the Kalinga Stadium area so that before the commencement of the much-awaited game the area would sport a cleaner look.
