Mehbooba Mufti warns of more Salahuddins in Pakistan, BJP hits back

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, who is battling dissent within the party, has accused the BJP-led Central government of trying to engineer a split in her party. In a strong statement, Mehbooba reminded the BJP of the 1987 fiasco, when widespread rigging in elections in favour of the Congress-National Conference alliance led to a spurt in militancy in the state. BJP MP Subramanian Swamy, however, reacted strongly to Mehbooba's statement, saying it only shows her symathies for separatist leaders.
