Vadodara: Two more cases of gastroenteritis were reported from the Navapura area of the city on Saturday even as the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) struggled to take care of water contamination there. Elsewhere in the city, five cases of cholera were also reported.
According to VMC officials, besides the new cases, four patients reported earlier remained hospitalised. The condition of all these patients was said to be stable. Data shared by the civic body also revealed that three samples were tested for water contamination and all these were found unfit for consumption. Water supply to the area is yet to be resumed and tankers are being used.

The patients who tested positive for cholera were from the Hathikhana area in Fatehpura, Nagarwada, Pratapnagar and Ektanagar. They were admitted on Friday and the reports of their tests came on Saturday.
