Victim attacked accused with utensil
Indore : A 25-year-old youth allegedly attempted to rape a class VI girl at her residence under Bhanwarkuan police station area on Friday. The girl somehow managed to save herself after attacking him with a utensil. Police could not arrest the accused even after 24 hours of the incident.
Bhanwarkuna police station in-charge Sanjay Shukla said that the incident took place in Bhawna Nagar.
The 14-year-old victim lodged a complaint that she was at home when a youth named Deepesh Balai of the same area reached there. He entered her house and molested her. The victim cried for help when the accused fled from the scene.
After a few minutes, accused again reached there and attempted to rape the victim when courageous girl attacked him with a utensil on his head after which the accused released her and fled after threatening to defame her. The girl later informed her mother about the incident and lodged a complaint with police.
Preliminary investigation revealed that mother of the victim was busy in some work behind their house when the incident occurred. A case under POCSO Act was registered against the accused and the investigation is on.
Shukla said police raided several places to trace the accused but he could not be arrested. He is out of city and a search is on for him.
