SURAT: A 19-year-old college student was stabbed to death by three unidentified persons on a motorcycle in Udhna area of the city on Saturday. The murder took place at a time when heavy police bandobast has been put in place for Jagannath Rath Yatra being organized in different parts of the city. The gruesome murder was captured on CCTV camera.

Samadhan Pawar, a resident of Udhna, was talking over his phone near Kailash Nagar when three people came on a motorcycle. They talked for a while with Pawar, who was on his scooter. They later took out knives and stabbed the deceased multiple times. Pawar, who was also doing part-time job to support his family, collapsed on road due to severe stab wounds and heavy blood loss within seconds.

Police are yet to identify the accused. They are examining the CCTV footage to establish the identity of the attackers.

Police suspect that the deceased was attacked because of some personal rivalry. It is being investigated if Pawar had developed disputes with someone in recent past. “We are yet to identify the accused but they will be soon nabbed as we have specific leads,” said a police officer from Udhna police station.
