Police have put out a video of a nun confessing her role in the baby selling racket, in the clip Sister Konsalia says one baby was given to adoption for free but the other three infants were sold. The video has been released few days after the Roman Catholic Church spoke in favour of nun at the Missionaries of Charity shelter home in Ranchi who has been arrested for selling four babies.
Sister Konsalia and Anima Indwar, were the employee a Mother Teresa’s charity, Nirmal Hriday, they were arrested last week for allegedly selling infants for adoption.
The racket at the Ranchi branch have triggered a lot of protest, particularly the shelters owned by Mother Teresa’s charity.
Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas of Ranchi broke his silence this week and criticised police of investigating the case.
The police told NDTV, “they are treating the whole of Mother Teresa’s organisation as a criminal gang”.
The top officials stated that nuns are innocent and the nun seen in the video stated that she was pressurised by the police to speak false in front of camera.
