Sleuths attached to the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) on Friday nabbed a Commercial Assistant of the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company (Tangedco) for demanding and accepting bribe.
A team of officials arrested Tamil Iniyan, a Commercial Assistant attached to the Lalpettai branch of Tangedco, based on a complaint from Ilanchezhiyan, a resident of Lalpettai.
According to DVAC police, Mr. Ilanchezhiyan had approached the official to get a new electricity connection for his shop.
Tamil Iniyan allegedly demanded ₹5,000 to provide the connection.
Sleuths attached to the DVAC nabbed Tamil Iniyan red handed when he accepted the chemical coated currencies from the complainant. Further investigations are on.
