Devotees bear brunt of MTMC bias at Mahakaleshwar

Ujjain : To facilitate smooth ‘pujan-abhishek’ at the ‘garbhgriha’ for Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, devotees were forced to keep waiting at the Mahakaleshwar temple, here on Saturday.

The Chief Minister along with his wife Sadhana Singh, and state BJP organising general secretary Suhas Bhagat arrived at the temple at about 11.30 am, almost an hour late. They were here to seek blessings of the presiding deity prior to the launch of the “jan ashirwad yatra,” ahead of the Assembly elections-2018.

They performed a ‘panchamrutabhishek-pujan’ in the ‘garbhgriha’ for about 25 minutes. As a result, ‘darshanarthis‘were forced to queue some 90 ft away from the ‘garbhgriha’ since 10 am and allowed to enter after 12.30 pm only. However, about 50 BJP workers succeeded in entering the ‘nandi-griha.’

Later, the CM sought blessings of ‘pandas’ and ‘pujaris’ and ‘vedpaathibatuks’. He announced that the Government Maharaajwada school’s 22000 sq ft area would be handed over to the Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee for providing more facilities to the devotees. The Chief Minister also visited the ancient Harsiddhi Mandir to pay obeisance to the presiding deity.
