JHAJJAR: In a bid to protect the environment, the district administration prohibited single use plastic bottles in all government offices.
Deputy commissioner
Sonal Chauhan issued orders on Friday that no single use plastic bottles will be allowed in any of the district government offices. The decision has been made as a step towards the environment conservation. Jhajjar has chosen “Beat Plastic” as its annual theme under which polythene bags and other plastic materials will be phased out.
The administration will put up instruction boards in the government offices to not bring in any single use bottles in the premises. Although, multi-use water bottles are still allowed. “The multi-use bottles are beneficial in comparison with single use ones. The multi-use bottles are also available in variants like glass, steel, aluminium etc and people can avoid using plastic bottles in multiple uses too,” said Chauhan.
