PM unveils several projects for people of eastern UP

Purvanchal Expressway among other projects inaugurated

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the 340 km long Poorvanchal Expressway in Azamgarh. This road will connect several towns of eastern UP, including Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Faizabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur – with the State Capital – Lucknow.

It would also provide direct access to the national capital Delhi via the Lucknow- Agra expressway and the Yamuna Expressway.

Addressing a public rally on this occasion, the Prime Minister said, the Purvanchal Expressway will change the face of all villages and towns it passes through.

The Prime Minister said, the expressway will boost tourism at places of historical significance. Mr Modi also said, the recent increase in the minimum support price (MSP) of kharif crops will immensely benefit farmers and also mentioned the Centre’s initiatives for weavers in the region. He said, the eastern UP languished because of previous governments’ policies.

Mr Modi said, political parties which did not see eye to eye earlier are joining hands now to stall development work by this government.

The Prime Minister dedicated to the nation the Varanasi City Gas Distribution Project and flagged off the Varanasi- Ballia EMU train. He also laid the foundation stone of the Panch Koshi Parikrama road and several projects under the Smart City Mission and Namaami Gange Mission and an International Convention Centre.

Addressing a public meeting at Raja Talaab in Varanasi this evening, the Prime Minister said, development of the eastern part of the country is one of the top priorities of his government. He spoke about the steps taken by the NDA government for the development of Varanasi.

Among his other programmes in Varanasi, Mr Modi spoke to a gathering of intellectuals and attended a function where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath released a book titled Meri Kashi..

IN VARANASI

Prime Minister Modi dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone of important projects, cumulatively worth over Rs. 900 crore in Varanasi. He also flagged-off the Varanasi-Ballia daily EMU train.

He laid the foundation stone for the Panchkoshi Parikrama Marg, and several projects under the Smart City Mission and Namaami Gange as well as the Varanasi City Gas Distribution Project. The Prime Minister also laid the Foundation Stone for an International Convention Centre in Varanasi.

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath released a book titled “Meri Kashi,” in the presence of PM Narendra Modi. The book gives glimpses of the extensive development work across Varanasi in the last four years.

No part of the country remains untouched by the wave of transformation under the Modi government and on Saturday it was the turn of Poorvanchal to benefit from his Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Mantra.
