‘Take action against Central Horticulture staffs’

The Samajika Nyaya Abhijan, Odisha has sent a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to fulfil their six demands, including action against staffs of the Central Horticulture Experiment Station (HSES), Aiginia who allegedly misbehaved with some youths recently.

Abhijan members staged a demonstration against the SHES staffs’ misbehaviour in front of the Raj Bhawan here on Thursday under the leadership of Abhijan president and Ambedkar Campaign advisor Akshaya Kumar Mallick. Later, a representative team met the Governor and submitted a six-point charter of demands addressed to the Prime Minister to him. The memorandum alleged that three employees, P Srinivas, Arun Barik and BC Acharya locked four youths for hours for asking them why they were late to come to the office. The youths had had gone to bring mango auction form to the HSES. “We want that the three staffs be expelled  and a biometric machine be set up to record attendance of staffs,” said Mallick.

The other demands include supply of information sought through regarding agri supports being provided to farmers of Mayurbhanj and Rayagda districts and actions against persons who had withdrawn money from Sukant Nayak’s ATM forcibly. Among others, Ambedkar Campaign president Manoranjan Guru, vice-president Prashant Rout, Abhijan vice-president Sayd MJ Abdul Kalam Azad, secretaries Madhab Palai and Sanatan Das, treasurer Sukant Behera, assistant secretary Sriman Bhoi spoke.
