Traffic advisory for Iskcon Rath Yatra

Commissionerate Police issued a traffic advisory for the residents of Bhubaneswar during Rath Yatra festival celebrations at Iskcon Temple in the City on July 14.

BHUBANESWAR:   Commissionerate Police issued a traffic advisory for the residents of Bhubaneswar during Rath Yatra festival celebrations at Iskcon Temple in the City on July 14. As per the schedule, during the pulling of chariots of the holy Trinity - Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra, traffic will be regulated in the Capital. Heavy vehicles coming from Khandagiri will be diverted to the over bridge at Baramunda. While, the vehicles coming from Cuttack will be diverted to the over bridge near Hotel Siddharth in Nayapalli. The police said all vehicles coming from Khandagiri will be diverted from CRPF Square towards Ekamra Kanan.

The vehicles will not be allowed to move towards DAV Public School road from CRPF Square and vice-versa till the chariots reach their destination. “Once the chariots of the Trinity cross CRPF junction, the traffic will be normalised on the national highway,” police said.The Rath Yatra celebrations at Iskcon Temple attracts hundreds of devotees every year, and the chariots of the Trinity are pulled till Mausima Temple in Unit-VIII.
