HYDERABAD: The issue pertaining to order of the city police to Swami Paripoornananda, who was externed from Hyderabad for six months, was raised in the Hyderabad High Court on Thursday.
As soon as the court proceedings commenced for the day, advocate Metta Chandrashekar, appearing before the bench comprising Chief Justice TBN Radhakrishnan and Justice Ramesh Ranganathan, questioning the action of the police declaring the Swami as ‘anti-social’ element.
He said the decision of the police amounts to violation of freedom of an individual and his fundamental rights.
The bench told the advocate to file an affidavit if he has any objection on the action of the police. If he wants to treat the issue as a PIL case, a letter has to be written to the high court registrar general and that a committee concerned would examine it, the bench suggested the advocate.
Following reports that spiritual Guru Swami Paripoornananda was planning to come to Hyderabad to stay in the Madhapur area, which comes under Cyberabad police commissionerate limits.
The police on Thursday set the stage for the banishment of the seer even from the areas that fall under the commissionerates of Cyberabad and Rachakonda for six months.
Proving this, police of Rachakonda and Cyberabad, issued show-cause notices to Swamiji. Police of two Commissionerates sought explanation from the already externed seer, as to why he should not be externed from their jurisdictions, for making provocative statements on many occasions.
