Gosnells man charged after police car stolen while officers chased suspect
A 39-year-old Gosnells man has been charged over an incident where a police car was stolen while officers ran after a suspected burglar in Cloverdale.
The alleged incident took place on Tuesday evening, when police responding to a burglary call-out pulled over and gave chase after seeing a man running down Williams Avenue.
While the officers were busy chasing and arresting the man, it is alleged the 39-year-old stole their marked Holden Commodore.
Kensington detectives also allege the man crashed the car into another vehicle on Wright Street, before fleeing the scene.
The Gosnells man has been charged a raft of offences, including aggravated home burglary, stealing, stealing a motor vehicle, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, failure to report an incident in which property was damaged and breach of bail.
He is set to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday.
