Chandigarh – The Punjab Government will provide jobs to about 8,500 youth of the state during the first of its kind ‘International Job Fair’ in the country. The Punjab Technical Education and Employment Generation Minister Charanjit Singh Channi disclosed this after holding a joint review meeting of Employment Generation and Technical Education departments regarding the arrangements for this job Fair at his official residence here on Thursday.The Minister said that the Job Fair will be organised at Government College, Phase-6, Mohali on 30th July. He said that the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will inaugurate the event and hand over appointment letters to the selected students. The minister further said that earlier there was offer of about 5 thousand international jobs from various countries but now the number has gone upto 8500 and this number is likely to increase in the coming days. He said that representative from 6-7 countries will be participating in the job fair to provide jobs to the Youth of the state.
The minister directed the officers of the technical education department to start publicity of the event to make job aspirants aware about this opportunity to work abroad without paying any fee to any of the agents.
