GURUGRAM: The
final call on the proposed
MCG takeover of seven licensed colonies in Gurugram will be taken on Saturday, said civic
commissioner Yashpal Yadav, who held a meeting with the developers concerned on Thursday.
Yadav, who discussed the revised project reports with the developers and asked them to study the
DPRs within two days, said
DTCP director-general KM Pandurang would chair a meeting on the matter on Saturday.
The revised DPRs for the seven colonies have already been accepted by the state urban local bodies (ULB) department.
MCG had sent the revised DPRs to Chandigarh for approval on June 28. In these, the takeover cost for the developers had come down by 80%, sparking speculations that MCG would now have to shell out the difference in cost from its budget.
The commissioner said since all demands of the developers had been met, the takeover process would gain momentum now. He also said the corporation was ready to take charge of civic amenities in seven colonies — DLF 1, DLF 2, DLF 3, South City 1, South City 2, Sushant Lok 1, Sun City and Palam Vihar.
Ward 34 councillor RS Rathee, who has been pushing the takeover drive, said, “MCG should start work for improving drains, roads, water supply at the earliest.”
