Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Dev Vrat today inaugurated a state-level plantation campaign as part of 69th Van Mahotsava celebrations at Ganevag (Nehra) near Shimla.
Over 5,000 saplings were planted under the campaign, jointly organised by the forest department and State Red Cross Society, Shimla.
The Governor and the first lady also planted saplings of Deodar on the occasion.
Dev Vrat called upon the people to make plantation a part of life. He said that everyone should plant saplings on special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries.
