New Delhi: The UN human rights report on Jammu and Kashmir has ignored ground-level realities in the terror-ravaged state, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Friday.

Rubbishing the report on alleged human rights violations by the security forces, the Minister said the UN had chosen to ignore the humanitarian assistance the Indian Army had been rendering to victims of terrorism in the state.

“The Indian Army has been exercising the highest restraint in dealing with terrorists, protesters in Jammu and Kashmir. It has set up schools, trained boys and girls for higher education, made youth from the state to travel to the rest of India.”
