1969 Dodge Charger Hellcat Is A Restromod We Can All Get Behind

The 1969 Dodge Charger is an iconic muscle car and its styling cues can still be seen in newer models such as the Challenger Hellcat.

While the Challenger still looks pretty good after a decade on the market, it doesn’t hold a candle to the classic Charger. Bumbera Performance decided to fix that by combining the best of both worlds and creating the 1969 Charger Hellcat.

Looking like it just rolled off the assembly line, the Charger has a stock appearance but a few clues hint at the power underneath the hood. Among the changes are a custom Magnaflow exhaust and upgraded brakes which hide behind five-spoke alloy wheels.

While there’s no denying the exterior looks fantastic, much of the interior carryovers from a modern Dodge. As a result, the car has a lost some of its original charm. That’s unfortunate, but the Charger does have modern conveniences such as air conditioning, a push-button ignition and an infotainment system.

Of course, the most notable change occurs under the hood as the model has been equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 engine that produced 707 hp (527 kW) and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque in stock form. It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which sends power to the rear wheels.

The Drive reports the car was built for Solomon Hill who plays basketball for the New Orleans Pelicans. He appears to have pretty good taste in vehicles, but the model likely came at a sizable cost. Bumbera didn’t go into specifics, but said creating a similar car would run between $100,000 and $250,000 – depending on the level of modification.
