Proposed namaz in Ayodhya cancelled as RSS backs out

The proposed community namaz and reciting of the Quran on the banks of Saryu river in Faizabad on Thursday in support of the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya, was cancelled at the last minute after the RSS disowned the function after which the district administration too denied permission to organise it.

Sources said that local saints of Ayodhya-Faizabad also opposed the holding of namaz on Saryu banks saying that it was not required.
