DUSIB to conduct survey in JJ clusters for issuing provisional certificates to occupants

The Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB), chaired by Arvind Kejriwal, has decided to conduct a survey in all jhuggi-jhopri (JJ) clusters to ascertain the number of occupants and then issue a provisional certificate to them, a said today.

DUSIB member Bipin said the purpose behind the survey was to ensure that people living in all the 750 clusters can be shifted to pucca house under the Slum & Jhuggi Jhopri Rehabilitation & Relocation Policy, 2015.

The board has approved the demand survey of all bastis in the city and issuance of a provisional survey certificate to dwellers having photographs of the occupants of the surveyed units, said.

Besides, the board has also decided to prepare a consolidated estimation for completion of (CC) pavement pavements and drains including repair works in all these bastis.

"This work will be completed in one year and the government will provide funds for these repairs and constructions," the government said in a statement.

It stated that the board also gave nod to the proposal to establish open gyms in all the DUSIB Shishu Vatikas (a designated space for children) wherever feasible.
