Queensland rodeo cancels Shannon Noll show after singer abused fan

Shannon Noll has been dropped from the line-up of an upcoming rodeo in western Queensland after his outburst at a fan on the weekend.

Mount Isa Mines Rotary Rodeo took to Facebook on Friday to announce it had "withdrawn a scheduled performance" by the Australian Idol runner-up at next month's event.

Rodeo general manager Ms Natalie Flecker cited concerns that Mr Noll’s outburst last Saturday night was at odds with the rodeo’s “family-friendly environment and reputation”.

Mr Noll had been scheduled to take the stage on Friday, August 10, and Ms Flecker said his evening show spot was yet to be filled.

In a statement, Mr Noll said he was “disappointed to not be there to celebrate such a milestone for an event ingrained within the history and heritage of Queensland and I wish it every success.”

Mr Noll was filmed verbally abusing a patron during his performance at the Duck Creek Family Picnic Races in the central New South Wales town of Nyngan.

The singer said he would give someone 100 bucks to "punch that f--- for me".

The crowd member fired back at Mr Noll, which prompted the Australian entertainer to shout back another expletive-filled response.

“Have some balls and come up here and I'll punch your f---ing teeth down your throat out the back, dog-arse prick. Then I'll f--- your missus and your mum,” Mr Noll said.

Last year, the 2003 Australian Idol runner-up was charged with assault after an altercation with
nightclub staff outside a venue in Adelaide.

The Mount Isa Mines Rotary Rodeo will be held on August 9-12.
