Nagpur: Prashant Parteki and his younger brother Santosh, arrested for allegedly killing 17-year-old Kunal Chachane on Tuesday, have been remanded to police custody till July 18 after they were produced before the court on Thursday.
The murder took place at Dawlamethi in Wadi during a drunken brawl. Kunal, who had been released from remand home a few ago after being held for a murder, had been with the brothers for a few hours. The brothers made Kunal consume liquor at different places before pinning him down and smashing his head with stone.
Police said the Parteki brothers wanted Kunal to summon James at Dawlamethi to settle a score. Police said the case was cracked with the help of Kunal’s friend Akash Pal who too was with them for a considerable time.
Ambazari police had already registered a case of kidnapping against the Parteki brothers following a complaint filed by Kunal’s elder brother Vishal on Wednesday. The victim had not returned home and his cell phone too was switched off. The murder came to light after the Parteki brothers were rounded up for interrogation.
