New SSP visits Lucknow University after violence

LUCKNOW: Almost ten days after a group of expelled students of Lucknow University (LU) went berserk attacking teachers on Lucknow University campus including the Vice-Chancellor, new SSP Lucknow Kalanidhi Naithani visited the university campus on Friday.
Naithani also met LU VC SP Singh and apprised him about the security on the campus and also assured him of assisting in providing a hassle-free educational atmosphere on the campus. He later inspected the campus premises to take a stock of security provisions.

The police had beefed up the security after the High Court took cognisance of media reports and had summoned the DGP and the then SSP to explain why the police failed to respond promptly to the calls made by the University officials on the fateful day. The police has deployed 30 constables after the vandalism episode.
