Sidhi, once the Congress strong has ceased to only two seats in the last two elections due to internal factionalism between the stalwarts of Congress whereas due to the division of BJP into several groups and sub-groups it could not made this district into saffron stronghold even after winning four seats.
It will be the Challenge for both Congress and BJP in the upcoming elections, occupying two-two seats of the district. To return in the power it is very important to win every seat for the Congress, which is being exiled for 14 years. But due to the factionalism between stalwarts is very challenging for Congress to all the seats of Churhat, Sidhi, Sinhawal and Dhohni.
In previous election BJP lost Churhat and Sinhawal seats due to the factionalism. Now this time it will be a challenge for BJP to win these two seats and retain the occupied Sidhi and Dhohni seats. Remember that in the elections of the year 2008 BJP had managed to win three seats.
From Sidhi assembly area, the seven times consecutively winner, a senior Congress leader Inderjeet used to wave the flag of Congress.
In the year 2008, after delimitation, the home district Sinhawal of Inderjeet became new assembly seat and due to his contest in elections from Sidhi seat, the flood of claimant had come and due to the factionalism in Congress, the senior leader of BJP Kedarnath Shukla had opened the account of BJP in Sidhi, the stronghold seat of Congress.
He defeated Congress’s Krishna Kumar Singh with the difference of 27 thousand of votes. But Kedarnath Shukla’s ticket could rejected but it was skipped in 2013 elections, this was due to the opposition in the organization and in the area and with the existence of many claimants, even after winning the Sidhi seat which was first time for anyone from BJP with this big margin while some claimants of Congress helped him in last moments, winning the election marginally with only 2360 vote, who were annoyed with the party by not getting the ticket.
The same situation is there, again at this time also. In such if Kedarnath’s ticket will be cancelled than Dr. Rajesh Mishra is under counting of strong claimants whereas from the Kshatriya class the municipal corporations chairman Devendre Singh Munnu and Dharmendre Singh Parihar’s names are under discussion whereas the district president Lal Chand Gupta is the only claimant from Vaishya Samaj.
There are dozens of claimants from. Out of these, the last time loser with a very little margin, Kamleshwar Dwivedi is prominent. He is constantly communicating with the public of the area.
Congress’s joint secretary Gyan Singh Chauhan is also strongly claiming for the ticket. If we talk on the leader of opposition Rahul’s area that is Churhat, this seat became stronghold of Congress.
This time also Rahul will jump on the ground, from this seat and this is fixed where from BJP, Sharad Chand Tiwari had tried his luck from this area is again trying for the ticket while, divided in old and new BJP, there are many other claimants in which the former Member of Parliament Govind Mishra’s son Anendre Mishra is prominent whereas the chairman of Vindhya Development Authority, Subhash Gupta it also trying.
For reserve seat of schedule tribes that is Dhohni, once used to have an influence of Congress but the BJP’s tribal leader Kuwar Singh Tekam will again jump in the field by taking the advantage of Congress’s factionalism and this is also fixed.
He is believed to be closer of CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan. From this seat there is nobody, who can compete with him. From this seat, Congress has some winning faces that have ability to win but they are nervous of being the victim of factionalism they are not claiming for ticket right now.
Tilakraj Singh is a candidate from one group and on the other hand district Panchayat Chairwoman Shyamly Singh who is incorporated with two groups and member of district Panchayat Sheshmani Panika who always keeps distance from the groups are prominent.
‘Sinhawal’s assembly seat’s condition is very similar to Churhat. From here, the former minister Inderjeet Kumar’s son and Kamleshwar Patel are the claimants whereas, divided in many groups and sub-groups, BJP has also many claimants.
Out of these, Vishwajeet Pathak is prominent who had lost the election of 2013 with more than 32 thousand votes due to the internal factionalism and strokes. As a second claimant, Land Development Bank, Sidhi’s former chairman Shiv Bahadur Singh is also very active.
