School toilets to be cleaned in three districts: Minister

Toilets in all schools in the districts of Erode, and would be cleaned, keeping in mind the health and hygiene of the students, A Sengottaiyan said today.

The first phase of the toilet-cleaning project, sponsored by the International, would take off in September, said while inaugurating 'smart classes' at a government higher secondary school here.

Under the project, the club has granted 1,000 vehicles which would go to every government, municipal and panchayat school, clean the toilets and septic tanks, he said.

In the first phase, toilets in 20,000 schools would be cleaned and it would be implemented in other districts on phased manner.

The said he has been getting complaints of the many inactive parents, teachers associations in government schools and added that such associations would be wound up and new office-bearers be put in place.

He also said the would appoint teachers who have passed the examination.
