Dalit man beaten to death with rods, sticks

Noida: A 24-year old Dalit man succumbed to his injuries after he was beaten up by a group of men in Kasna, Greater Noida ,on Thursday morning. The victim was identified as Amit Jatav, a resident of Kasna village who worked as a painter in under-construction buildings.
Amit’s uncle Rajendra Singh said his nephew had gone for a morning walk around 5am on Thursday. “Seven youths surrounded him and started beating him. They were Vikram, Sukhpal, Indra, Raj Singh, Ravindra, Brajesh and Surendra Chauhan. They thrashed him with iron rods and sticks after a quarrel.”

He was admitted to Yathartha Hospital, where he died on Friday evening. Piyush Kumar Singh, CO Greater Noida II, said a case of attempt to murder was registered and a murder case would be registered after an autopsy report.
