Primary and Secondary Education Minister N. Mahesh on Thursday informed the Legislative Council that a decision on the regular transfers of teachers of government primary schools and pre-univeristy colleges would be taken within a fortnight.
Replying to BJP member Tara Anuradha, the Minister said a decision on transfers and counselling would be taken after a discussion with officials.
The transfer process, which began in January, was put off owing to the model code of conduct for the Assembly polls.
Meanwhile, 10 cases pertaining to transfers were filed in the High Court and the court issued stay orders in some cases. It was because of this that the process had been delayed, the Minister said.
