Are you one of those smartphone-fiddling adults raving to revisit your childish past? If yes, then all you ought to do is visit Metro Rail stations from July 16. CMRL (Chennai Metro Rail Limited) in association with Kreeda, an organisation that has been working for over 15 years in researching, developing and reviving traditional games of India, would organise a month-long road show.

Kreeda will be stopping for a couple of hours at 26 Metro Rail stations on stipulated date and time to help Metro passengers and public take a break from their hectic work schedule and play traditional games like Pallanguzhi, Parama Patham, Aadu Puli Aatam, Kattam Vilaiyatu, Nakshatra Vilaiyatu, Nallu Katta Dhayam and Dhadi.
Sporting red and yellow, members of Kreeda team would receive commuters to the tables set up for people to play at the stations. The tables would be made available at unpaid areas of the stations. The games could be hosted outdoor on CMRL campus in stations like Vadapalani for paucity of space, a CMRL officer said. “The idea is to popularise CMRL by drawing people to stations.
Hence, the unpaid areas of the station,” the officer added.
The two-hour window would mostly open from 4pm and 6pm on all stations except Guindy, Vadapalani, Little Mount and Nanganallur Road stations where the games would be organised between 10 am and 12 noon. CMRL is also understood to have planned a photography exhibition coinciding with Madras Week in the third week of August. CMRL had organised several cultural events like musical concerts featuring Carnatic singers, instrumentalists and occasionally folk arts at its stations.
