Sanjay Dutt’s sister, Namrata, has given her reaction after watching Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic on her brother’s life, Sanju. Namrata said that she liked the film and lead actor Ranbir Kapoor’s performance but it was difficult for her to accept anyone portray her father, late actor Sunil Dutt.

In an interview to SpotBoye.com, Namrata shared her views on the film and Paresh Rawal’s portrayal of her father. “Not that I didn’t like him. I didn’t connect, but I’m not the audience. I’m Sunil Dutt’s daughter,” she said. When asked about Manisha Koirala as her mother Nargis Dutt, she had a similar reply. “She was okay too. Being Sunil Dutt and Nargis’ daughter, it’s difficult to make judgments. If the audience connected with them, it’s great,” she said.

Namrata, however, liked Ranbir as Sanjay. “I liked it (Sanju) but being a family member who is so closely connected, it would be difficult for me to comment on it. I underwent everything with Sanjay (pauses). But yes, Ranbir was very good and the film is entertaining,” she said.

Namrata is married to actor Kumar Gaurav and is the middle daughter of Sunil and Nargis. Their youngest is politician Priya Dutt.

Sanju has raked in big money at the box office. It is the fourth Indian film ever to make Rs 200 crore in its first week and has made about Rs 270 crore in almost two weeks.

The film also stars Anushka Sharma, Vicky Kaushal, Sonam Kapoor, Jim Sarbh and others.
