Sriram-Vishnu duo shock second seeds

Sriram Balaji and Vishnu Vardhan knocked out second seeds Roman Jebavy of the Czech Republic and Andres Molteni of Argentina 6-7(7), 6-4, [10-8] in the quarterfinals of the €127,000 Challenger tennis tournament on Thursday.

Jeevan & Austin move up

In the $75,000 Challenger in Winnetka, Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Austin Krajicek of the United States, the top seeds, cruised into the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-3 win over the American duo of Mitchell Krueger & Alex Lawson.

In the ITF women’s event in Tianjin, third seed Karman Kaur Thandi sailed into the quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Sun Xu Liu of China. Second seed Ankita Raina made the semifinals of a similar event in Nonthaburi, beating Belgium’s Tamaryn Hendler 6-1, 6-4.

National champion and fifth seed Mahak Jain knocked out top seed Ye Xin Ma of China 6-3, 6-1 in the quarterfinals of the $15,000 ITF women’s event in Solo.
