KOZHIKODE:
Calicut University has taken steps to ensure prompt refund of fees by affiliated colleges if the student chooses to cancel his/ her admission up to 30 days after the last date of admission under the varsity's
centralised admission process (
CAP).
The varsity has implemented the guidelines issued b the
UGC in this regard and has issued an order stating the colleges should fully refund the fees (100%) if the student gives notice of withdrawal of admission to the institution 15 days before the formally- notified last date of admission.
The varsity move comes following complaints of difficulties faced by students to get fee refunds mainly from self- financing institutions in the event of college- change during the single window admission process.
As per the order students who cancel their appointment not more than 15 day after the formally- notified last date of admission will have to be paid 80 percent of the paid fees.
Those who cancel the admission more than 15 days after the notified last date of admission but less than 30 days after the notified date will have to be paid 50 percent of the fee. Students who cancel the admission more than 30 days after the formally- notified last date of admission will not be eligible for any refund.
