A homeless man with no arms has been charged with stabbing a tourist with a pair of scissors. Miami police said the 46-year-old used his feet to attack the man, stabbing him twice in the arm before running away. The victim told officers he had simply asked the man for directions, but the homeless man said he was attacked first and was acting in self-defence.
Giant squirrel causes outrage in Kazakhstan
A 40ft tall squirrel in the Kazakh city of Almaty has sparked a backlash from residents. Many argue that the art installation, which cost £51,000, is a waste of tax-payer money, but the British artist responsible for the rodent has defended his work. “I hope that people will be able to identify themselves with this giant squirrel, with its beauty and strength, as well as with its sense of depression and uncertainty that unite us in these unpredictable times,” he said.
Drunk driver only drank at stop signs
A man arrested for drunk driving has defended his actions by telling police officers he only took sips of his bourbon while stopped at traffic signals and stop signs. The 69-year-old was charged with driving under the influence and without a licence after crashing into another car in a McDonald's drive-thru in Florida.
