MBBS, BDS admission process postponed following Madras HC order

CHENNAI: The Directorate General of Health Services and state selection committee in Tamil Nadu have postponed admissions to the MBBS and BDS courses following an order from the Madras high court.
The Madurai bench of the Madras high court on Tuesday directed the CBSE to award a grace mark of 196 to all students who appeared for NEET-2018 in Tamil after it found that 49 questions were either wrong or unclear.

The DGHS, which had announced that it would release the results of round-2 of counselling for government colleges under all-India quota and deemed universities on Thursday, put out a message to the participating candidates/institutes/colleges/universities that in compliance of the directions of court, “Online undergraduate counselling for the session, 2018, including the declaration of the second round result will be kept in abeyance till further orders. Candidates are advised to keep checking the official website for latest updates.”

Minutes later, state selection committee secretary Dr G Selvarajan said the counselling scheduled on for three days from July 16 stands cancelled. “The intimation regarding the reschedule of counselling for management quota will be hosted on a later date on the official websites,” he said.
