The Cyberabad Police on Wednesday arrested 30 fraudsters for cheating State Bank of India customers to the tune of more than ₹ 5 crore.
According to the police, six of the prime accused who hatched the plan and the remaining tele-callers cheated customers by pretending to be employees of the bank. They obtained credit card details of the customers fraudulently and carried out fake transactions in the name of Jayshree Distributors.
The police got wind of the scam when an SBI employee approached them citing a large number of customer complaints pertaining to transactions with Jayshree Distributors. The police warned the general public against falling prey to such scams by revealing confidential information.
