VADODARA: Heavy rains lashed Vadodara in Gujarat on Thursday leaving several areas waterlogged. Disaster management officials reported three inches of rains between 8pm on Wednesday and 10am on Thursday. It poured throughout the night and the showers got heavier on Thursday. District administration officials said that there was no warning of heavy rains yet.

Apart from Vadodara city, Padra received 32 mm of rains, Karjan received 49 mm, Dabhoi witnessed 29 mm rainfall and Waghodia got 23 mm of rains between 8am on Wednesday and 8am on Thursday.

The entire Vadodara district received nine inches of rains during the last 24 hours. Till the last reports came in, Vishwamitri River is flowing at 9.75 feet that is way below the danger mark. While the main roads in the walled city were completely submerged in waters, areas like Alkapuri, Sayajigunj and Jail Road too witnessed waterlogging.
