Lanzante Shows Off The McLaren P1 GT Ahead Of Its Official Debut

It’s hard to believe the final McLaren P1 was built back in 2015, but the model is once again in the spotlight as Lanzante has released the first pictures of the P1 GT.

Set to debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the P1 GT is a beautiful hypercar that features a dark green exterior with a prominent carbon fiber front splitter. The car has also been equipped with additional vents, a larger roof-mounted intake and a massive rear wing. Other changes include the addition of a four-tailpipe exhaust system and a modified rear diffuser.

Moving into the cabin, we can see a unique carbon fiber steering wheel with green leather grips. Additional changes are hard to spot but the GT has two-tone seats, green door pulls and a special badge on the driver’s side.

The GT appears to be based on the P1 GTR which featured a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine with 789 hp (588 kW / 800 PS). The car was also equipped with a lightweight electric motor that contributed an additional 197 hp (147 kW / 200 PS). This setup gave the GTR a combined output of 986 hp (735 kW / 1,000 PS).

It remains unclear if Lanzante has modified the engine, but the P1 GT could be significantly lighter than the standard model. The company’s P1 LM weighed 130 lbs (59 kg) less than the GTR thanks to a number of weight saving measures including removing the air-jack system and replacing the glass windows with lighter polycarbonate units.

While a lot of questions remain, Autocar is reporting the P1 GT draws inspiration from the McLaren F1 GT Longtail and was commissioned by a customer who resides in the Middle East.
