Stock market ended largely unchanged on Wednesday as threats of a new tariff imposition on Chinese goods by the US hurt sentiment, but losses were curbed as technology stocks such as TCS gained after posting a record quarterly profit, Reuters reported.

The broader NSE Nifty closed up 0.01 per cent at 10,948.30, while the benchmark BSE Sensex ended 0.07 percent higher at 36,265.93.

“It was a volatile day on the bourses following two days of a positive trend. Global cues were weak and market remained skittish in response to various comments by US President Trump, who is currently on the first leg of his European trip. Sectoral performance on the NSE was skewed to the negative with the metals index losing over 3%. The IT index on the other hand managed to have a positive day and registered gains of over 2%,” said Abhijeet Dey, Senior Fund Manager-Equities, BNP Paribas MF.
